If you find yourself with a significant amount of pain in your elbow, the cause could be golfer’s elbow. Elbow pain, commonly called Golfer’s Elbow, is a significant pain that many people develop whether they play golf or not! It starts as a pain in the inner elbow, usually an ache. But it can quickly become a problem when untreated. Here’s how chiropractic care can help.
WHAT IS GOLFER’S ELBOW?
Well, golfer’s elbow doesn’t occur in just golfers. It also happens in tennis players, boxers, rock climbers, any people who have a job or hobby which requires a repetitive motion in their elbow. Swimmers even get swimmers' elbows! So, what exactly is happening to cause that elbow pain? As we move our arms, our muscles and tendons use a series of compound motions and tools inside our limbs to complete the motions.
When those motions are excessively repetitive, or they meet unexpected resistance (like hitting the ground on a golf swing), they stress the muscles and tendons in our arm to the point of damage. That is the pain in the inner elbow that is so recognizable from golfer’s elbow.
SEEK ROCHELLE CHIROPRACTIC CARE TO AVOID ELBOW PAIN
Golfer’s elbow treatment is different for every unique case, but we find that there are a few elements that stay the same throughout treatment. That is continued attention to the inner muscles and nerves in the arm, leading all the way to the spine.
Most golfer’s elbow treatment will also involve a spinal alignment since a significant amount of pain can be caused by pinched nerves in the tower. But that’s not all, some individuals will need to get a sling for their arm to relax until their treatment is finished. This is a normal experience, but most of the time, the problems can be resolved by just a standard chiropractic session.
