1. GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Turn off all screens before you sleep to maximize the restorative effects of your sleep, and you can fall into a deeper sleep. The REM sleep cycle is the most restorative for the brain, and it happens early in the sleep cycle. The most restorative part of sleep is missed if you or your child go to bed too late.

2. USE SUPPLEMENTS

Make your family's diet healthier by supplementing them with nutritional supplements. You can receive an immune system boost by taking vitamin D3, a multivitamin, magnesium, and extra vitamin C. Research suggests that decreasing sun exposure and diminishing vitamin D production, particularly in northern climates, might be responsible for declining immunity in winter.

3. SPEND TIME OUTSIDE

Vitamin D is essential for kids, so make sure they spend time outside every day in the sunshine and fresh air. This can be just going for 30-minute walks, playing outside, or even grilling for family dinner.

4. MAINTAIN ACTIVITY LEVELS

During the summer, kids spend a ton of time outside being active. However, when school starts, that time greatly diminishes. If your kids are not exercising regularly, you should set aside time to include it in their daily routine. Regular exercise can build the immune system and a strong body.

5. PRACTICE HEALTHY EATING

Low nutritional foods do not provide the nutrients your body needs to function. So, stop eating junk food and items that don't have any real nutritional value but only satisfy cravings for taste sensations. It is impossible to boost immunity by eating sugary snacks and highly processed foods.
