This past Friday marked the 125th Anniversary of chiropractic care. 2020 certainly looks very different than 1895, but one thing hasn’t changed – all there is to love about chiropractic! If you are new to chiropractic or are due for an adjustment, here’s part of the reason why chiropractic is so beneficial in today’s world.
LOW LEVELS OF ACTIVITY
We are more immobile and inactive than ever before in history, and the pandemic has only contributed to most of us staying at home and indoors. Part of this is also because we have entertainment right at our fingertips. Kids don’t have to go outside for fun, they just have to turn on the TV. The same thing goes for adults. Why get up and get outside when you can just reach for the nearest phone, tablet, TV remote, or computer? Because of this, our bodies are becoming inflexible, stiff, weak, and painful. At Wills Chiropractic, we help negate this phenomenon by correcting issues within the spine and neck which helps eliminate stiffness and pain and promotes movement.
NO NEED FOR NATURAL MOVEMENT
Try to imagine living over hundreds of years ago. You probably worked a lot harder to get your food, whether it was hunting and/or gathering. You walked a lot more, as cars either weren’t invented yet or were harder to come by. Now we drive everywhere, can purchase whatever we need conveniently in one location, or even have it delivered. This convenience is extremely helpful in many ways, but immobility isn’t great for our health. Without natural movement, our bodies suffer.
NOT ENOUGH FOCUS ON HEALTH
As a society, our focus on health hasn’t been the best. Sure, we all go through health kicks from time to time and there are plenty of fitness enthusiasts to follow. But, as a whole, we simply don’t pay enough attention to wellness – both physically and mentally. This means we carry around more weight, suffer from more illnesses, struggle with issues like chronic stress, and have a harder time staying well. Chiropractors help keep the spine healthy, which then benefits the rest of the systems of the body. While it’s no magical cure-all, it is certainly a step in the right direction to help keep your body healthy and strong.
